In April 2011, Pratt & Whitney, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation, purchased a pulse water jet patent from VLN Advanced Technologies. This patent previously owned by Dr. Mohan Vijay will allow Pratt & Whitney to remove Chrome and other hard coatings with only water. Pratt & Whitney and VLN Advanced Technologies also formed a relationship to explore more VLN technologies that could assist Pratt & Whitney in the future in their quest for cleaner, more environmentally friendly processes for aerospace manufacturing.
