Surface Preparation

Conventional surface preparation method typically uses aluminum oxide grit particles to roughen a surface to improve coating bond strength. This method can leave grit particle contamination that can lead to premature coating failure.

The pulse water jet can roughen a surface with only water. Also, a higher surface roughness can be achieved with the pulse water jet that has shown to promote the significant improvement of coating bond strength.
